FAQ

What do you believe?

We believe Jesus never said to make Christians—He said to make disciples. At best, “Christian” is an orphan identity. Jesus never came to start a religion—He came to reveal the Father, restore us as sons and daughters, and prepare us for His return. Religion creates orphans. The Kingdom creates family. Our mission is to help people live free, powerful lives with God at the center—equipped, aligned, and awake to what’s coming—outside of fear, shame, and broken systems. See our full ethos here.

What is a post-church and post-Christian discipleship network?

Despite popular Christian teaching, following Jesus does not require you to go to church or wear the label of "Christian" to enter the kingdom of heaven. Post-church and post-Christian discipleship is discipleship the way Jesus modeled it: no stages, no spectators, no Sunday church performance. Instead, it’s daily life-on-life discipleship, where people are equipped to hear God for themselves, live boldly, and transform the world around them.

Jesus said, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there am I in the middle of them" (Matthew 18:20).

What is a resource cooperative?

Scripture tells us the disciples came together and shared everything they had so that no one was ever in need. A resource cooperative follows that same pattern—uniting people to share the tools, wisdom, and skills needed for life’s journey. Unlike traditional church models where a pastor holds all the authority, here you’re empowered to live with the authority God has given you personally.

It’s Kingdom collaboration in action—sons and daughters working together to build strength in every area of life. That means real help in identity, health, wealth, relationships, and preparedness—so you’re equipped not just spiritually, but practically for what’s coming.

How is this different than church? Aren’t you just starting your own religion?

No. Religion builds hierarchy. We build family. We’re not asking people to join an institution—we’re calling them back to the narrow path of walking with God daily and preparing for His return. This isn’t about filling a building or running programs. It’s about activating disciples to know who they are, live with confidence, and reveal God’s power in the world around them.

And here’s the difference: there are no requirements, no shame, no guilt, and no obligation. Some may just want to consume our free content and wear the brand—that’s fine. If you see yourself as an Outlier, part of the 13th Tribe, then welcome home. If you want to go deeper and connect with other Outliers, we have many paths you can follow. The choice is yours.

Why do you call Christianity a wolf in sheep’s clothing?

Because Christianity is a man-made system. It looks like light but hides the Father behind rules, titles, and fear. Jesus warned us: “Beware of false prophets… inwardly they are ravenous wolves” (Matthew 7:15). Paul said the same in 2 Timothy 3—many would have “a form of godliness but deny its power.” That’s the fruit we see: control, manipulation, and powerlessness. Jesus never came to build a corporation with pastors as CEOs. He came to reveal the Father and make disciples. Anything less is a wolf in disguise.

What is The Law of Ability™?

The Law of Ability says that the measure in which you understand your God-given identity determines the measure of ability you can access and release.

Identity unlocks clarity. Clarity builds certainty. Certainty produces authority. And authority multiplies ability.

Once you know who you are, you’ll never settle for less than what God designed you for—because knowing who you are equips you to stand ready, aligned, and awake for what’s ahead.

What is The Outlier’s Way™?

The Outlier’s Way™ is our proprietary framework that practically teaches the narrow path Jesus spoke of—the path that leads to life. Very simply, it's practicing a Christ-centered life with purpose, power, and provision.

Who is this for?

The Outlier Brand is for those who don’t fit inside broken systems—misfits, truth-seekers, and protectors who know there’s more. It’s for the pure-hearted and courageous, the remnant hungry for truth, purpose, and a real relationship with God.

It’s for anyone longing for a judgment-free space to grow with God—free from the shame, guilt, and obligation religion often imposes. And it’s also for those new to faith who are searching for Jesus and want to discover what His Kingdom is really about.

If you’ve ever felt unseen, misunderstood, or weary from walking alone—you’ve found your tribe. We’re here to equip you spiritually, mentally, financially, physically, and practically to live pure, stay savage, and be ready for what’s coming.

What is the 13th Tribe™?

The 13th Tribe™ is our apparel line that represents the larger family of Outliers—the remnant rising outside of broken systems.

In Scripture, there were twelve tribes of Israel, but God has always reserved a people who don’t fit the mold—those set apart for His purpose. We call them the 13th Tribe. These are the sons and daughters who refuse to bow to religion, culture, or compromise in the last days.

It’s for those who choose freedom over conformity, truth over tradition, and the Kingdom of God above all else—those who keep the commandments of God and hold the testimony of Jesus Christ (Revelation 12:17).

We are the remnant—pure in heart, savage in spirit, and ready for the return of Christ.

What are Outpost Groups?

Outpost Groups are small, Spirit-led gatherings designed to reclaim the simplicity and power of the early church. They’re not about programs or performance but authentic fellowship, grounded in hearing God’s voice, and experiencing His presence together.

Each Outpost is more than a meeting—it’s a place of refuge and equipping for the remnant. Wherever two or more meet with this purpose, an Outpost Group becomes a safe haven where lives are transformed, faith is strengthened, and God’s Kingdom is lived out in real time—preparing believers to stand firm, stay pure, and live ready for what’s coming.

Learn More Here.

What is a sheepdog? Why do you call Outliers sheepdogs?

Sheepdogs are protectors. They look like wolves to the system, and even to some sheep, because they’re fierce, bold, and unafraid—but their loyalty is to the one true Shepherd, Jesus. Outliers are sheepdogs: they see through deception, defend the vulnerable, and rise when others kneel. They don’t just follow; they listen to God’s voice, guard what is noble, and fight for what matters.

What does it mean to “Live Ready”?

To Live Ready means to walk in daily alignment with God—spiritually, mentally, financially, physically, and practically—so you’re equipped for whatever comes.

It’s not fear-based prepping; it’s faith-based readiness, resourcefulness, and connection to a tribe .

Why do you say we’re living in “the days when darkness is being exposed”?

Because it’s obvious—systems are shaking, deception is spreading, and truth is being tested.

The Outlier Brand believes this refining season is exposing what’s false so the remnant—God’s sons and daughters—can rise pure, bold, and unshakable. We’re not predicting fear; we’re calling people to preparation and power.

What do you mean by “the remnant”?

The remnant is the few who refuse to bow to corrupt systems or religious compromise. They’re not spectators—they live pure in heart, savage in spirit, and ready in mind. They walk in alignment with God’s purpose and carry His Kingdom into every part of life. The remnant aren’t driven by fear or hype—they’re chosen by grace, standing firm in truth when the world caves to deception.

Scripture references:

Revelation 12:17 – Those who keep God’s commandments and hold to the testimony of Jesus.

Romans 11:5 – A remnant chosen by grace.

Isaiah 10:22Though your people be like the sand of the sea, only a remnant will return.

What is functional eschatology?

Eschatology is the study of “last things”—the end times, the return of Christ, and life after death.
Functional eschatology, however, is not about what you know—it’s about what you do with what you know.

It’s the practice of living with eternal awareness while staying grounded in purpose today. Knowledge of the end means nothing if it doesn’t transform how we live now. Without application, theology becomes theory—and theory without action only fuels fear, apathy, or escapism.

Functional eschatology calls us to rise above the noise, live with focus, and build with wisdom—fully awake, prepared, and active until He comes.

How does The Outlier Brand help people prepare for what’s coming?

Through practical equipping—spiritual growth, resourcefulness and mindset training, financial wisdom, and community connection.

From The Outlier Council to Outpost Groups, The Revealing Tour, and Outlier Retreats, every part of The Outlier Brand is designed to help people hear God's voice, stand firm in their God-given identity, walk in authority, and thrive in the days ahead.

Jesus Was Not a Workaholic: The Lie That’s Killing Your Purpose

Jesus Was Not a Workaholic: The Lie That’s Killing Your Purpose

October 21, 20257 min read

My wife and I were at the car dealership the other day, shopping for a truck. After a little small talk, the salesman asked about our business, and we told him we were taking it on the road for the year, which was why we were considering buying a truck. He was probably in his late fifties, maybe early sixties. As soon as we said that, he started telling us all about his plans to retire, buy the Winnebago, and travel the country. He had the map, the dream, and the speech memorized. I’ve heard this story a hundred times… and I’m sure he had told the story a hundred times.

It feels good to talk about all the plans we have for our lives, but the sad reality is that very few people will ever do the things they say they want to do, even if they truly believe it’s what they want. It’s human nature to say one thing but fail to do what it takes to make those plans reality—because plans without execution are sure to fail.

So I asked him a simple question: “What would it look like if you figured out a way to retire early?” He smiled, like I had just said something cute but impossible. Then he paused, seemingly uncomfortable with the reality behind that question, and said, “Nah, I’m a workaholic. I love what I do.”

I nodded, but inside I could see it plain as day—the man was exhausted, overweight, and unhealthy. His body was breaking down, his spirit was fading, and his “someday” dream was nothing more than an illusion keeping him from facing the truth. So in typical fashion, I smiled and jokingly said, “So ‘someday you’ll travel the country’ really means never?” He quickly rebutted, saying no, it’s gonna happen—he just wanted to make sure he had enough money tucked away.

He wasn’t in love with work. He was afraid of what would happen if he stopped, but he used his “love for work” as a narrative that made him feel better about himself because deep down he knows—it’s never going to happen. Just like most people today, fear, insecurity, and confusion about what they really want drives their daily decisions.

The Workaholic Lie

Let’s be honest—most people don’t love their work. They love feeling needed. They love the illusion of control. The illusion of security. The praise they receive from their customers, clients, peers, or employees. They love the dopamine hit that comes from “being busy.” But workaholism is not passion—it’s avoidance disguised as purpose.

It’s easier to bury yourself in productivity than to sit in silence and ask the real questions: Who am I without this title? Why do I need to prove my worth through performance? What am I afraid of losing if I slow down?

That salesman’s answer wasn’t unique. It’s the same orphan mindset that keeps millions of men grinding themselves into an early grave—building kingdoms of dust because they don’t know who they are without their hustle. They talk about freedom, but their hands are chained to fear.

False Belief #1: “If I Stop Working, I’ll Lose My Purpose.”

That lie is killing people faster than cigarettes and whiskey. And as the old adage goes, everyone will die, but very few will ever truly live. Somewhere along the line, culture convinced us that our doing defines our being—that our worth is tied to output, that “success” is proof that we matter.

But Jesus didn’t live that way. He finished His assignment in three and a half years. He never hustled for approval or chased validation from crowds. He worked from identity, not for it. He didn’t build an empire on earth—He built people (though He was building an eternal empire in the real Kingdom). He didn’t push Himself to burnout—He withdrew to rest. He didn’t strive for more—He walked in perfect alignment with the Father.

When you’re aligned, you don’t have to grind. When you’re led, you don’t have to prove. If you think you’ll lose purpose by stopping, you never had it in the first place—you had performance addiction.

False Belief #2: “My Dreams Will Happen Someday.”

“Someday” is the graveyard of potential. The salesman at that dealership had his whole dream life mapped out—every mile, every destination, every sunset he’d chase after retirement. But here’s the truth: he won’t make it. Not because God doesn’t want him to—but because he’s been lying to himself for too long.

His body won’t hold up. His mind won’t slow down. And his heart won’t believe he deserves rest because he’s been programmed to equate rest with laziness. If you keep saying “someday,” what you’re really saying is “not yet.” And “not yet” becomes “never” for most people.

You don’t drift into destiny—you decide into it. The future you talk about won’t magically arrive. It only exists if you have the courage to walk toward it today. Otherwise, you’ll keep trading the life you were born for in exchange for the comfort of the life you’ve settled for. Fear dresses itself up as logic. It whispers, “Be practical. Be patient. Play it safe.” But the Kingdom doesn’t run on logic—it runs on obedience. As a mentor once said, big dream, small dream, or no dream at all... it’s all the same price. Your life.

False Belief #3: “I’m Fine.”

This one’s deadly. When I looked at that man, I could tell he wasn’t fine. His body was inflamed. His eyes were tired. His spirit was restless. But he kept smiling, saying he loved what he did—the same way a drowning man says he’s fine because admitting he’s sinking would take too much humility.

We live in a generation that’s mastered pretending. Pretending they’re okay. Pretending they’re fulfilled. Pretending they’ll live long enough to enjoy the dream. But you can’t fake alignment. You can’t fool your body, your soul, or your Creator.

Ignoring your health, your family, your inner peace—all in the name of “doing what you love”—is self-deception. You’re not fine. You’re fatigued, disconnected, and afraid to face the truth that you’re wasting years you’ll never get back.

Jesus Was Not a Workaholic

Let’s get this straight—Jesus wasn’t lazy. He was productive. But His productivity came from presence, not pressure. He withdrew often. He rested intentionally. He never panicked about provision. He wasn’t chasing results—He was revealing reality.

He finished His work because He knew when to stop. That’s what most people don’t understand: unfinished obedience is still disobedience, but unceasing work is also disobedience. The Father rested after creation, not because He was tired, but because He was complete. Completion is a spiritual posture. Workaholism is proof you haven’t found it yet.

A Hard Truth

If you’re reading this and you’ve been postponing your dreams, lying to yourself about your health, or hiding behind busyness—this is your wake-up call. You might not have three to seven years left like that salesman thinks he does. You don’t know how much time you have—but you do know what obedience feels like. You do know when you’re misaligned. You’ve been called to create, not to cope. To live, not to wait. To walk in sonship, not slavery.

A Call to Alignment

It’s time to stop worshiping work. It’s time to stop calling fear “responsibility.” It’s time to stop future-casting your freedom and start living it. Jesus was not a workaholic—and neither were you meant to be.

Your worth isn’t in your sales quota, your schedule, or your success story. It’s in your alignment with the Father. And from that alignment, everything else flows—peace, provision, power, and purpose.

That’s why we started The Outlier Council—for people who are tired of claiming “someday” they’ll do the thing, and are ready to finally get the equipping they need to start today.

If you’re ready to stop postponing purpose and start walking in clarity, confidence, and the courage to live in divine alignment, learn more about how to join us inside The Outlier Council.

Because the truth is, you’re not just one decision away from a better life—you’re one breakthrough away from the life you were created to live.
